We worked through the Badge Alliance and IMS Global to build localization into the Open Badges Specification itself, which enables badges to be published in multiple languages. The next step is to implement this feature along with providing translations of our user interfaces. No current ETA, but this process should begin in 2017.
As of January 1, 2017, IMS Global became the organization responsible for advancing the development, transferability, and market adoption of the Open Badges 2.0specification. As part of that effort, localization was built into the spec itself, and implementation is now on the roadmap. Unfortunately, there is no ETA for making Badgr available in other languages but the process should begin sometime in 2017.
